Browser requirements
You will need a current version of Web browser software in order to access the streaming audio clips.
- Netscape 4.0.1 or later
- Internet Explorer 4.0 or later
- other browsers
You should have a minimum connection speed of 56 Kbps. A modem of 56 Kbps is a minimum requirement and will allow you to hear the lofi clips; a high speed Internet connection is optimal and will enable you to listen to the hifi clips.
Download and installation instructions
Download an MP3 player with streaming capabilities. Below are some suggestions
- Mac (OS 9.0.4+ only): iTunes
Note: this is now available for Windows
http://www.apple.com/itunes/ - Windows 9x/2000/XP: Winamp
http://www.winamp.com/ - Other players: You can search for different streaming audio players or players for other operating systems at http://www.mpeg.org/MPEG/MPEG-audio-player.html. Install according to instructions for each player.
Once the player is installed, click on the link for any clip you would like to hear. The audio file should automatically open in the player you installed.
Troubleshooting
Does your computer have sound capabilities? Is sound configured properly?
Do you have your speakers/headphones installed properly? Turned on? If the above are true, you should hear a local test file that the player came with.
Are you connecting properly to the streaming server? WinAmp users can check if the time counter is moving, if so, the stream is playing. iTunes has a "Connecting to Stream" and "Buffering" indicator when connecting to the stream.
